Job summary

Henry County Schools in Locust Grove, GA, is seeking a School Nutrition Assistant to join the Financial Services/School Nutrition division. This 6-hour-per-day, 183-day position supports food preparation, serving, and compliance with HACCP, Health Department requirements, and meal accountability procedures.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, demonstrated integrity and confidentiality, and the ability to supervise students in emergency situations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or state-approved HSE preferred.
• Demonstrates integrity and strong confidentiality.
• Ability to follow the Georgia Ethics Code.
• Reliable and punctual attendance at work.
• Able to work on-site at school facilities.
• Capability to supervise students, including emergencies.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
• Comfort with standing, walking, and light lifting.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Good communication and attention to safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve food following HACCP procedures.
• Follow daily production schedules and recipes.
• Clean utensils and equipment; manage waste and mop floors.
• Use leftovers per manager directions and store items properly.
• Operate and maintain equipment as trained.
• Follow approved chemical use instructions.
• Adhere to Federal, State, and Local policies.
• Comply with employee rules and uniform standards.
• Improve job skills and serve students proudly.
• Maintain student and staff confidentiality.
• Complete required training, including 30-hour Orientation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
