SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Director of Nutrition - School Nutrition Manager.
Essential Functions
Follows production schedules and time schedules as prescribed by the School Nutrition Manager.
Maintains the highest standard of safety, cleanliness, and orderliness in the kitchen, work areas, and storage areas.
Participates in the preparation of food within an established production system following recipes, preparation and service methods, and food handling techniques to ensure acceptable standards.
Complies with oral and written instructions.
Operates and cleans all kitchen equipment small and large.
Follows all cleaning schedules daily.
Reports to the Manager faulty equipment.
Reports to the Manager any food of inferior quality.
Stores food and other related items, planning for the use of leftovers with the School Nutrition Manager.
Must follow all rules in employee handbook.
Completes job assignments within the number of hours designated as the regular school day.
Maintains the highest standards of personal hygiene and conduct.
Follows Board policies and procedures of the district and the School Nutrition Program.
Maintains confidentiality.
Adapts well to emergencies and new situations.
Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
Willingness to accept change.
Accepts constructive criticism from School Nutrition Manager.
Attends all meetings as directed.
Attends all in-service training annually.
Attends relevant training classes and workshops.
Performs all other duties, and assumes all other school related responsibilities, as assigned by the School Nutrition Manager and/or School Nutrition Director.
