Job summary

Minot Public Schools is seeking a Nutrition Services Assistant at Washington Elementary School in Minot, North Dakota. The role supports food preparation, serving meals, operating a cash register, and maintaining sanitary dining areas.

Work hours are 11:00am–1:00pm, 2 hours per day. A high school diploma or GED is required; prior customer service is preferred. This is a part-time position with a starting wage of $17.26 per hour.

Qualifications

• Education, Training and Experience Guidelines: High School diploma or GED; some customer service work experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of MPS policies and procedures; Safety and sanitation practices for food preparation and distribution.
• Skill in following verbal and written instructions, establishing effective working relations, and communicating effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation and presentation in accordance with policies and safety standards.
• Prepare dining areas, serve meals and snacks, and operate a cash register/service terminal.
• Clean work areas and maintain sanitary dining and food preparation spaces to mandated health standards.
• Interact courteously with the public and district staff while maintaining confidentiality and following child abuse reporting rules.
