The School Nurse & Substitute Nurse Pool is for assignments for the 2026-2027 school year. If you are currently in the 2025-2026 Elementary Teacher Pool (Multiple Subject) eligibility pool, you must submit a completed application to be considered for a position in the 2026-2027 school year.

Position Specifics: This School Nurse & Substitute Nurse Pool is for assignments for the 2026-2027 school year. The San Diego Unified School District accepts applications for the School Nurses on a continuous basis for regular full-time, part-time, and temporary assignments. Nurses in the District are itinerant, which means they may travel to one or more sites to serve students. This is a continuous recruitment which will be used to establish an ongoing eligibility list.

Application Process
To be eligible for consideration, interested candidates must submit the following. Your application will be considered incomplete if you do not include all required information, including completion of the Work Experience and Education Sections of the online application, required attachments, and responses to all application questions.

A resume may be attached but not substituted for completing the work history, education sections, or the supplemental questions.
Examination Process
The examination process will include an application screening based on education, work history, and responses to supplemental questions. Professional references will be contacted for candidates progressing. Candidates who meet minimum qualifications are not guaranteed advancement. Those selected will be invited to an interview. An eligible list will be valid for one school year.
