Qualifications

• RN certification required.

• Experience or training with youth preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing the school health program.
• Observe students regularly to detect health needs.
• Instruct teachers on screening students for health defects.
• Maintain up-to-date health records for all students.
• Report health matters to parents, staff, physicians, and clinics.
• Provide care in absence of a physician for injuries or emergencies.
• Administer first aid per established procedures.
• Make recommendations on health needs of individual students.
• Recommend and implement board policies on exclusion/readmission for infectious diseases.
• Help maintain sanitary standards in schools.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
