Job summary

Westchester Day School in Mamaroneck, NY is seeking responsible School Nurse Substitutes to provide nursing care during the school day when the staff nurse is absent.

You will administer medications, respond to emergencies, monitor chronic conditions, and maintain confidential health records in line with FERPA, policies, and state regulations.

Qualifications

• RN or PA licensure required or as dictated by state/school policy.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required or obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to students for illness, injury, and medical needs.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and policy.
• Monitor chronic conditions and respond to Health emergencies with first aid.
• Maintain confidential health records per FERPA.
• Communicate with families regarding health concerns and follow-up care.
• Collaborate with staff to support student wellness.
• Ensure health office safety and compliance with health regulations.
