Job summary

Charter Schools USA seeks a part-time School Nurse to support the instructional program by creating a climate of health and well-being in the school. The Nurse PT will address health needs consistent with CSUSA goals and ensure health records, screenings, and immunization compliance are maintained.

The role involves coordinating with parents, staff, and health organizations, administering medications, and advising on health issues while upholding state laws and CSUSA policies.

Qualifications

• Current license as a registered professional nurse in state.
• Certification as a school nurse or working toward this certification.
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college.
• Minimum of three years successful experience as a nurse or school nurse.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a complete, up-to-date health record system using available technology.
• Plans and conducts screenings, examinations and health appraisals in accordance with state law and CSUSA policy.
• Monitors newly enrolled students in order to ensure that state law and district policy are implemented concerning health issues.
• Advises and counsels students, staff and parents on health issues.
• Provides input to the administration concerning health issues and policy development.
• Provides first aid and assists emergency care givers as applicable.
• Administers medication in accordance with state law and CSUSA policy.
• Communicates with parents/guardians and staff about health issues.
