Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field required.
- Michigan RN license required; CPR preferred.
- Eligible for Michigan school nurse certificate (interim, standard or professional).
- Three years experience in public health or school nursing preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with nurses, counselors, teachers, administrators, and community partners.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and develop the school health program for the assigned area.
- Administer medications or supervise designated staff.
- Maintain and update student and staff health records.
- Communicate health needs to administrators, staff, students, and families.
- Conduct staff in-service trainings on proper health procedures.
- May coordinate AED/Emergency response equipment maintenance.
- Refer students and staff to appropriate agencies when needed.
- Attend district sites to deliver nursing care as required.
