Job summary

Cobb County School District is seeking a School Nurse to provide essential health services within the Student Support department. The nurse reports to the Principal and District Nursing leadership and will operate under the School Nurse salary schedule, 183-school-day calendar, and monthly pay.

The ideal candidate holds valid GA RN or LPN licensure, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications, with at least one year of nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing education program required.
• Valid RN/LPN licensure in the State of Georgia; CPR/AED certification required; ARC Standard First Aid certification required.
• Completion of CCSD training course and passing all tests; ongoing competency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Administers and documents medications to students per clinic policies and physician directions.
• Maintains a clean, safe clinic environment with proper sharps handling and locked medication storage.
• Maintains privacy and respect for students; serves as advocate and communicates health issues to staff and families.
• Documents nursing interventions in IHCP/504/IEP and collaborates with Consulting Nurse and Nursing Supervisor.
