Job summary

American Heritage Schools- Palm Beach County is seeking a School Nurse to provide direct care for students, campers, and staff, and to assess and manage medical issues to keep learners healthy and in class.

The Nurse will prevent illnesses, administer medications per physician orders, and maintain health records. Working hours are 7:30 am to 6 pm with a four‑day work week, and RN licensure plus a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• RN certification and license required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, treat, and provide direct care for students, campers and staff.
• Prevent and control illnesses to support learning.
• Administer over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.
• Develop care plans for students with ongoing conditions based on physician orders.
• Document medications, symptoms, and reasons for visits.
• Maintain health records including immunizations and health examinations.
• Coordinate medical records for students, campers, and staff to meet health standards.
• Communicate with parents regarding visits and medications.
• Provide nursing coverage for events outside normal hours when needed.
