Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid Vocational Nurse license to practice in Texas.
• Certified by Texas Department of Health to conduct vision/hearing screening.
• CPR certification.
• Ability to evaluate students for health defects (e.g., scoliosis, AN).

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care to students and staff per charter policy.
• Act as health mentor for students and staff.
• Contact parents/guardians in cases of accident or illness and arrange outside care when needed.
• Manage student medications to ensure proper administration.
• Perform health screenings and refer as necessary.
• Draft and implement health program evaluations and improvements.
• Assist in health education curriculum development and instruction.
• Collaborate with physicians, parents, and community health partners.
• Maintain and file health records and clinic inventory.
• Follow all applicable health policies and district procedures.
