Job summary

Mount Vernon School is seeking a registered nurse to serve as a long-term substitute during a leave period (Dec 2026–Mar 2027). Responsibilities include treating students, preventing health issues, managing prescriptions, and coordinating health assessments within school hours (7:30 am – 3:30 pm).

Requirements include a Georgia RN license, CPR/AED/First Aid certification, and experience in school nursing or pediatrics; familiarity with Magnus software is a plus.

Qualifications

• RN with current Georgia nursing license
• CPR, AED and First Aid instructor certification (or willing to obtain)
• Experience in school nursing or pediatrics preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide professional medical care to students and staff
• Monitor health conditions and perform health evaluations during school hours
• Maintain accurate clinical records and coordinate routine health assessments
• Manage student food allergies and sensitivities; communicate with parents and staff
• Refer athletic injuries to Athletic Trainer for follow-up care
