Job summary

Marietta City Schools is seeking a Nurse, Part-Time/Substitute to support the district's school nursing program. The role reports to the Nursing Coordinator within the Department of Special Services and requires GA RN/LPN licensure, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications.

This temporary, as-needed position involves administering nursing services, medication administration, health monitoring, and collaboration with families and school staff to promote student health and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Valid RN licensure in Georgia preferred or LPN licensure in Georgia
• CPR/AED certification preferred
• American Red Cross Standard First Aid certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
• Presents professional and well-groomed appearance according to District Dress Code.
• Communicates and collaborates with school personnel, nursing administration, students and families in a professional manner about school health issues.
• Reviews and remains abreast of current developments to maintain proficiency related to job responsibilities and student needs.
• Performs on-going evaluation of treatment programs and adapts programs as necessary to maximize results.
• Administers nursing services in accordance with the health care plan as stated in the IEP and as ordered by physician.
• Maintains a clean, orderly clinic and safe environment; adheres to confidentiality.
• Performs and records medication counts, administers and documents medications to students according to clinic policies.
