Job summary

Evergreen Public Schools seeks a School Nurse Long Term Sub in Vancouver, WA for the 2026-2027 school year. 1.0 FTE with anticipated dates 08/27/2026 to approximately April 2027.

This role requires a BSN, WA RN license, ESA certification eligibility, and background checks. You will develop healthcare plans, coordinate screenings, and liaise with families and providers to ensure student health needs are met.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Washington RN license required.
  • ESA Certification or eligibility for ESA Certification.
  • Successful completion of a background check (cost paid by employee).
  • School nursing experience preferred.
  • Ability to learn and operate computers and software systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized health care plans and emergency action plans for students with acute and chronic conditions.
  • Assess student health needs and provide consultative and referral services to staff, parents and students.
  • Coordinate mandated screenings for assigned schools.
  • Act as liaison between school personnel, family, community and health care providers.
  • Coordinate administration and delegation of health services, including medications and health room duties.
  • Provide first aid and CPR.
  • Monitor communicable diseases and report to agencies.
  • Prepare health assessments and reports for special education and federally funded programs.

Position Dates anticipated:08/27/2026 - approximately April 2027.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Successful completion of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Degree.
  • Washington RN license.
  • ESA Certification or eligibility for ESA Certification.
  • Successfully complete Washington State Patrol background check. Employee is responsible for cost of background check.
  • School nursing experience and/or background in common pediatric and school health problems, community health, pediatric growth and development and handicapping conditions preferred.
  • Possess good communication skills both orally and in writing.
  • Experience in working with children and families who are culturally, linguistically, and racially diverse.
  • Ability to handle information and confidential matters in a professional manner.
  • Ability to learn and operate computers and software systems.
  • Ability to remain flexible to changing situations and prioritize duties.
