Job summary

The Chester County Intermediate Unit seeks a Registered Nurse for the Engle Education Center in PA. The role involves school-based nursing care, medication administration, and health supervision for students with special needs in a nurturing setting.

Responsibilities include field trips, tracheostomy care when needed, accident care, and implementing care plans. Must have RN degree, CPR/First Aid, and clearances within one year of hire. Monday–Friday schedule, 7.5 hours/day, 185 days/year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or RN program completed.
• Experience working with special needs children preferred.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification required.
• Police, child abuse and FBI fingerprint clearances dated within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Administer tube feedings.
• Administer medications as prescribed by a doctor daily.
• Document prescription medication administration in the electronic medical system.
• Implement seizure precautions and treatments.
• Attend field trips and community-based trips.
• Provide tracheostomy care and replace tracheostomy tube if needed.
• Support toileting routines in the nurse's office.
• Provide first aid and emergency care for injuries and illnesses.
• Implement nursing care plans as prescribed.
• Other duties as assigned
