Job summary

The Nurse position in the House Child Care Center (HRCCC) supports the health and well-being of children and staff within the CAO organization. The nurse serves on the Center Leadership Team and provides coaching on health-related matters to staff and families.

Responsibilities include direct care, health assessments, medication administration, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards in a developmentally focused childcare program for House Members, staff, and related personnel.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Current registration as a registered nurse.
• BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers, including Infant/Child/Adult.
• Minimum of 1 year relevant experience.
• Experience with sick or injured children; pediatric nursing, community or school health, public health, emergency care, and triage preferred.
• Knowledge of basic infant and child health and development.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards for center-based child care settings.

Responsibilities

• Provides onsite assessment of sick or injured children and staff.
• Provides care, first aid, and/or emergency care as needed.
• Identifies health problems and makes referrals for diagnosis and treatment.
• Communicates information to families and primary care providers and emergency responders.
• Maintains and tracks medical, dental, screening and immunization records.
• Oversees medication administration and health plans for children with special needs.
• Ensures compliance with applicable health and safety policies and procedures.
