Job summary

Onward Education in Connecticut is seeking a full-time, in-person School Nurse to support a medically fragile high school student in Fairfield County for the 2026-2027 school year.

Active CNA or LPN license required; 1:1 health support, accompaniment during transportation, and close monitoring of mobility and fatigue are essential. The position includes a competitive benefits package and streamlined onboarding.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 health support for a high school medically fragile student across the school day.
• Accompany the student during transportation to and from school.
• Track the student’s tolerance for activity and respond promptly when signs of fatigue are reported or observed.
• Support safe mobility by staying with the student and assisting as needed when transitioning between a walker and a wheelchair.
• When the student is absent or leaves early, assist with coverage in the school clinic, medically fragile classroom, or other assigned setting per supervisor direction.
