Job summary

Onward Education is seeking a School Nurse (LPN/RN) to support a student in a Providence County school for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a full-time, in-person role with a 38.75-hour workweek and ASAP start.

Pay ranges from $35 to $45 per hour, depending on license and experience. You will administer medications, monitor health, and coordinate with school staff to enable safe participation in daily activities.

Qualifications

• Active Rhode Island nursing license (LPN or RN) or compact license eligible to work in RI.
• Experience supporting students with complex medical needs is preferred.
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively in urgent or emergent situations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, families, and school staff.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and providing compassionate, student-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 nursing support to a student with complex medical needs throughout the school day.
• Administer medications and support medical care plans as directed.
• Monitor student health status and respond to changes or emergencies.
• Coordinate with school staff to support safe participation in classroom activities and transitions.
• Document care provided and communicate updates with appropriate stakeholders per protocol.
