Job summary

Arrow Child & Family Ministries is seeking a Clinical Nurse to provide direct care to residents and students under physician orders. The role involves health assessments, administering medications, coordinating with families and insurers, and documenting nursing care in a residential/school setting.

Requirements include a MD Board of Nursing license (RN or LPN) and at least two years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED with current MD Board of Nursing license as RN or LPN.
  • Two (2) years of experience, preferably in a residential or school setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provides health assessment of each client for general health maintenance and follow up care.
  • Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by the attending physician.
  • Communicates with outside referral sources, providers, guardians, and insurance companies.
  • Documents illness, injuries and nursing-related issues accurately.
  • Obtains lab specimens as needed.
  • Administers immunizations and TB testing of children.
  • Travels to support team and visits as needed.
  • Participates in team meetings and trainings.
  • Maintains policy compliance with COA standards and Arrow procedures.

Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

  • Provides health assessment of each client for general health maintenance, evaluation of illness and injury and any necessary follow up care.
  • Administers medications and treatment as prescribed by the attending physician.
  • Communicates with outside referral sources, providers, parents/guardians, and insurance companies.
  • Provides accurate documentation of illness, injuries and other nursing related issues.
  • Obtains lab specimens as needed.
  • Administers immunizations and TB testing of children.
  • Administers and reads tuberculosis testing of staff, if required.
  • Participates on Treatment Teams of children.
  • Conducts medical assessments on clients after restraints and/or seclusions, as indicated.
  • Collects Health Office data and generates reports as requested by the Director of Nursing and Medical Services.
  • Monthly monitoring of resident BMI, heights, weights, and vital signs.
  • Transcribes orders, maintains supplies, and administers medications and procedures documenting accordingly.
  • Completes admissions screenings and documents accordingly.
  • Triages, schedules, and assists with doctor examinations as necessary.
  • Assists with the training of staff in various areas; medication management, CPR, and first aid.
  • Participates in team meetings.
  • Attends trainings and meetings as required.
  • Shares/transmits the mission and vision of Arrow Child & Family Ministries to staff and to clients and families served.
  • Perform all duties within contract, state and federal regulations, Arrow policy, and COA standards.
  • May be required to drive vehicles, be insurable with our auto insurance provider, and complete Arrow's vehicle training.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
Qualifications

High School diploma or GED with current MD Board of Nursing license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), and at least two (2) years of experience, preferably in a residential setting or school setting.
