Job summary

Gersh Autism is seeking a dedicated Maintenance worker to clean and secure the school building in Brooklyn, NY, and to proactively identify and resolve facilities issues. The role runs Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, at $19 per hour, with occasional after-hours support and event setup.

Responsibilities include daily cleaning, minor repairs, inventory management, and safe operation of cleaning equipment. Must have a valid driver’s license and pass pre-employment checks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year experience cleaning/custodial/janitorial.
• Pre-employment background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Support cleaning and maintenance of the building.
• Complete daily cleaning checklists and deep cleaning schedules.
• Notify managers about major repairs or system updates.
• Secure the building by turning off lights and walking through to ensure doors/windows are closed.
