Job summary

Rutland City Public Schools is seeking a Maintenance Journeyman Plumber to maintain the district’s plumbing systems and support facilities operations. The position is full-time, with on-call rotations and responsibilities including plumbing, HVAC support, and occasional bus driving or custodial substitute duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Vermont State Vehicle License is required.
• Ability to accept supervision.
• Ability to work with people.
• Equivalent of high school diploma required.
• Current Vermont Journeyman Plumbing license required.
• Must obtain Vermont State bus license within 3 months of hire.
• Experience with HVAC digital & pneumatic control systems is desirable.
• Experience in custodial work is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintains plumbing systems in schools and offices including repair of faucets, drains, pipes and related fixtures.
• Assists in the maintenance and operation of HVAC systems and controls.
• Takes rotational on-call duties as assigned.
• Drives trucks and operates other equipment and performs substitute bus driving as required.
• Performs duties as a substitute custodian as required.
