Job summary

Madison Metropolitan School District is seeking a Food Services team member to assist with preparation, packaging and distribution of school meals, Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 1:45 PM. Starting compensation is $25.47 hourly on the 26-27 salary schedule.

Qualifications

• Proficient computer use required.
• Ability to count money accurately.
• Experience working with diverse district personnel, students, and community.
• Knowledge of basic math functions and reading/writing directions.
• Ability to operate a cash register and handle money.
• Familiarity with POS systems and kitchen/food service equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation, packaging, and distribution of school meals.
• Promote a positive attitude and teamwork in the lunchroom.
• Follow USDA/DPI and MMSD rules, regulations and SOPs.
• Collect cash and report meals from students and adults, including computer operation.
• Distribute food in proper portions.
• Clean tables, kitchen equipment, and general food service area.
• Help with accurate preparation of meals to ensure quality and food safety.
• Maintain student account records.
• Substitute for Site Leads and/or other staff when absent.
• Enter meal counts for claiming and enter food orders; maintain production records and read recipes.
• Open/close POS system and reconcile daily cash receipts, bank deposits and sales reports.
