Job summary

Madison County Schools is seeking a School Nutrition Assistant at Madison High School to support breakfast preparation, meal service, and cashier duties.

The role requires maintaining safe, sanitary kitchen and cafeteria areas and assisting with daily operations during a 10-month, full-time schedule (7.5 hours daily, Monday–Friday).

Candidates with a high school diploma or GED and food service experience are preferred; training will cover recipe preparation, record keeping, and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Gather items as directed by recipe.
• Maintain records of items, quantity used, and amounts of food.

• Communicate effectively with students and staff.
• Clean and operate kitchen equipment and utensils.
• Plan supplies and future menus; advise on quantities.
• Perform arithmetic for measurements and cash register operations.

Job Summary:

Work performed includes but is not limited to breakfast preparation, serving meals, and serving as a meal service cashier.

Individuals are also responsible for monitoring and maintaining kitchen and cafeteria areas for the purpose of ensuring a safe and sanitary working environment.

Individuals will also be responsible for performing other duties as requested.
