Job summary

Monroe #1 BOCES Food Service Department in Fairport, NY is seeking a full-time kitchen helper for a 10-month school year schedule. The role runs 6am-1pm, with potential start dates in September 2026, and a starting rate of $17.00 per hour.

Responsibilities include food preparation, serving, dishwashing, setup of serving lines, light cashier duties, and occasional off-site delivery to BOCES facilities. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and hold a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic understanding of kitchen operations.
• Training will be provided.
• Possess current Driver's License.
• Physically able to perform essential functions of the position, including lifting 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Food preparation (salads, sandwiches, slicing).
• Portion desserts, salads, fruits for serving.
• Wash, trim and prepare vegetables.
• Set up serving lines.
• Serve food.
• Operate dish machine.
• Wash pans and utensils.
• Operate kitchen appliances.
• Assist in cleaning of kitchen and dining area.
• May serve as cashier.
• Delivery service of food to off-site BOCES facilities.
• Assist with vending operation.
