Job summary

St. Joseph Academy is seeking a Dishwasher to support the Food & Nutrition Services Supervisor in providing safe, child-focused lunch services. You will help wash dishes, assist with food preparation, and maintain clean, compliant food service and kitchen areas.

The role requires Safe Serve certification, high school education or equivalent, and a willingness to work with children. Bilingual Spanish is a plus; previous food service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school education or similar training/experience.
• Experience in food service preparation preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• Safe Serve certification required.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze an issue, identify options, and implement solutions.
• Interest in working with a child population.
• Ability to work cooperatively with people in and outside of Food & Nutrition Services department.
• Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing); effectively interact with children, families, and staff members.
• Possesses good hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to read, write and follow directions and instructions.
• Detail oriented; ability to multi-task, set priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Wash lunch dishes and assist in food service setup.
• Assist in preparation of food for children and proper equipment operations.
• Support sanitization and facility cleaning; help troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
• Fill in for vacations and absences of other Food Service staff.
