Job summary

Douglas County School District’s STEM Charter School is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the daily lunch program in charter schools. The role involves operating the POS system, assisting in meal preparation, and ensuring compliance with health regulations.

The position offers part-time hours (0.50 FTE), 20 hours per week, and a salary range with full benefits. Open until filled, with a closing date of November 27, 2026.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in school meal programs or food service preferred.
• Ability to operate POS and handle money accurately.

Responsibilities

• Operate Point of Sale system with accuracy and reconcile monies daily.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
• Participate in training to include PGI Classes. May lead training for other kitchen staff members.
• Serve meals daily while complying with all school food regulations and health department sanitation standards.
• Pursues opportunities to create positive relationships with the surrounding community.
• Assist in the set up and cleanup of serving areas for timely service to students.
• Assist in the preparation, service and sale of meals ensuring compliance with department regulations.
