Job summary

Lake Local Schools District Lake Elementary in Hartville, Ohio is seeking a part-time Cook to assist in the Food Service department, working 3 hours daily.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–2 years related experience.
• Formal food service training or equivalent in experience.
• Pass Food Service Promotional Test.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to prescribed standardized recipes.
• Assist in daily cleaning of all kitchen equipment.
• Assist Head Cook with meal preparation when time allows.
• Assist with regular inventories of food, materials and equipment.
• Attend meetings and in-services as required.
• Ensure safety of students.
• Fill out daily usage papers.
• Follow the school lunch program rules.
• Follow district menu and ensure items are on hand as per menu.
• Interact positively with staff, students, and parents.
• Maintain orderly and clean work areas.
• Respect confidential information (e.g., free/reduced lunches).
• Make contacts with the public with tact and diplomacy.
• Prepare and serve quality food quickly and attractively.
• Prepare a la carte items like sandwiches, casseroles, soups, pizzas, desserts, nachos.
• Promote good public relations by appearance and attitude.
• Report inferior food or faulty equipment.
