Job summary

Lunchtime Solutions is seeking a dependable Cashier for Elk Point-Jefferson School District. This on-site role runs Monday–Friday from 11am to 1pm, handling transactions and supporting daily meal service with a friendly, efficient approach.

You’ll operate the POS, keep your station stocked, follow cash handling procedures, and reconcile daily transactions while providing welcoming service to students, staff, and customers.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to work independently while staying connected to your team.
• Dependability, integrity, and attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills and comfort using a POS system.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform frequent standing, bending, twisting, and other physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process student transactions and manage account balances
• Keep your station stocked and ready while helping serve meals and a la carte items during service
• Follow cash handling procedures and reconcile daily transactions accurately
• Provide friendly, respectful service to students, staff, and customers, helping create a welcoming environment
• Assist with set-up and clean-up before and after meal service
• Support food safety standards and complete basic logs or records as needed
• Communicate with your team and supervisors about inventory, customer feedback, or account concerns
• Jump in where needed—help with stocking, basic kitchen tasks, or supporting teammates
