Job summary

The Saginaw Intermediate School District is seeking a Food Service Assistant to support the lunch program and related duties as directed by the appropriate supervisor.

Responsibilities include setting up the lunch service area, assisting with the cash register and data entry, cleaning duties, supporting work experience students, and maintaining confidentiality. A sanitation course and the ability to lift 50 pounds are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Familiar with operation of a food service program.
• Sanitation and safety course required.
• Keyboarding skills preferred.
• Ability to work well with others in a team.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Willing to receive additional training.

Responsibilities

• Set up dish area for lunch service.
• Assist with the cash register and data entry on the food service line.
• Wash dishes and put away cooking utensils; general cleanup.
• Assist with guidance of work experience students.
• Assist with housekeeping duties as necessary.
• Maintain confidentiality of student, parent, and staff information.
• Maintain a positive attitude with students, parents, staff, and community members.
• Perform other duties as requested by the Food Service Work Team.
