Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Library Technician to support library and classroom activities under licensed staff. You will prepare resources, assist students with locating materials, check out/in books, and maintain equipment in a school setting.

The role involves working with small groups, performing clerical duties, and contributing to instructional support while following district policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
• High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma is required.
• One year of professional work experience.
• Basic knowledge of typical office equipment and Microsoft Office.
• Basic knowledge of media equipment.
• Intermediate English language skills and communication skills.
• Advanced interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to work alone and with others.
• Ability to diffuse and manage volatile situations and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Maintain library books, periodicals, and online resources, including inventory and circulation tasks.
• Prepare library displays and visual aids; schedule media equipment usage and related supplies.
• Assist students with curriculum reinforcement and information literacy.
• Supervise students and parent volunteers in the media center.
• Perform basic clerical work such as typing, filing, and inventory.
