Job summary

Troy Community Consolidated School District 30-C seeks a Learning Resource Center Associate at Troy Middle School. You will support library services, assist teachers and students, and help with print and non-print resources in the LRC.

Responsibilities include class planning, book processing, inventory, circulation, and assisting with AV equipment. Position reports to district librarians and coordinators.

Qualifications

• Paraprofessional License via ISBE or higher degree required.
• Alternative qualifications may be considered by the Board.
• Medical examination including TB clearance.
• ROE fingerprint/background clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individualized library schedules.
• Order and receive books selected by the librarian.
• Prepare planned library classes and activities.
• Notify homeroom teachers and students about overdue books and collect fines.
• Perform basic book repairs and refer major repairs to LRC Director.
• Maintain attendance and inventory records for the library.
• Shelve books and maintain reserve shelves.
• Inventory supplies and suggest acquisitions.
• Assist students and teachers in locating materials.
• Read to classes in elementary buildings.
• Maintain student discipline in the LRC.
• Inventory AV equipment and distribute to staff.
