St. Edmund's Academy seeks a School Librarian to fuel a love of reading and to develop students as researchers, critical thinkers, and ethical creators of information.

The librarian will collaborate with faculty across divisions to design curricula in information literacy and digital citizenship. The role includes managing library operations, curating resources, and coordinating events like the annual book fair and Battle of the Books.

Qualifications

• Excellent candidates will have an outstanding record working with early childhood, elementary, and/or middle school-aged students.
• The ability to be collaborative, detail-oriented, and innovative is essential.
• Excellent writing skills and strong verbal communication are expected.
• The candidate must model and champion the school's core values including an overt commitment to inclusion and belonging for all members of the school's diverse community.
• Librarians with strong content knowledge and dedication to building meaningful relationships with students in a collaborative environment will enjoy this position.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the library's primary functions, including the evaluation, selection, ordering, processing, and curation of resources.
• Collaborate with teachers across divisions to design information evaluation and research curriculum.
• Coordinate with homeroom teachers and advisors to support media literacy and digital citizenship.
• Provide leadership on the selection and ethical use of digital resources.
• Manage the school's annual book fair and Battle of the Books program.
• Represent St. Edmund's Academy at after-hours events and activities and contribute to the school's community initiatives.
