Job summary

The Gardner School in Louisville is seeking a School Kitchen Support Staff member to help prepare meals for a state-of-the-art preschool. You will confirm weekly menus with the director, maintain inventory, and prepare meals per approved plans in a clean, safe kitchen.

Responsibilities include following budget guidelines, ensuring proper temperatures, dishwashing, and assisting in classrooms as needed. A high school diploma and SafeServe certification (or willingness to obtain) are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of dietary allergies and food safety regulations required.
• Experience in food prep and cooking, including large volume cooking.
• Proficiency in cooking techniques and meal preparation.
• Experience with menu planning and meal prep required.

Responsibilities

• Confirm weekly menus with school director.
• Adhere to budgetary needs.
• Maintain inventory and weekly orders.
• Prepare and cook meals per approved menus.
• Ensure proper serving temperatures.
• Maintain clean, sanitized kitchen area.
• Dishwashing duties.
• Follow safety, sanitation and nutrition guidelines.
• Assist in classrooms/other areas as needed.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
