Job summary

The Genesee School District is seeking a Substitute Food Service Worker to support the food service program, ensuring nutritious meals in a safe, welcoming environment for students. As a substitute, you’ll step in as needed to assist the food service team and contribute to the well-being of students.

Responsibilities include meal prep and service, maintaining cleanliness, operating equipment safely, inventory management, and providing excellent customer service to students and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior food service experience is a plus but not required.
• Team player with good communication and positive attitude.
• Ability to follow safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in meal preparation and serving per guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness in prep and serving areas.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely following procedures.
• Help with inventory, receiving, and storage.
• Provide friendly service to students and staff.
• Follow directions from Food Service Manager.
• Participate in training and development.
• Perform other duties to support the program.
