Job summary

The Genesee School District is seeking a dedicated Substitute Food Service Worker to assist with meal prep and service in our school cafeterias. You will support the food service team, help maintain a safe, clean dining environment, and serve students and staff with a positive attitude.

This position requires teamwork, reliability, and the ability to follow established guidelines and safety procedures. The role offers flexibility to cover shifts on short notice and contributes to helping

Qualifications

High school diploma preferred.
Experience in food service a plus but not required.
Ability to work well in a team and follow safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to guidelines and menus.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in food prep and serving areas, complying with health and safety standards.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and follow procedures.
Help with inventory management, including receiving and storing supplies.
Provide excellent customer service to students and staff in a welcoming dining area.
Follow directions from the Food Service Manager and staff to ensure efficient meal service.
Participate in training and professional development as required.
Perform other related duties to support the food service program.
