Lunchtime Solutions is hiring a dependable Substitute Kitchen Helper to support York Public Schools on an as-needed basis. You’ll assist with food prep, serving students, and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen, stepping in when regular staff are absent.

Qualifications

• Flexibility to work on an as-needed basis at various school locations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to follow recipes, measure ingredients, and adjust for large batches.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Fill in at school kitchens when team members are out, helping ensure meal service continues.
• Help prep and serve menu items, keep station stocked, and follow serving-size guidelines.
• Follow simple recipes and keep kitchen, storage areas, and equipment clean using FIFO.
• Maintain food safety and compliance, complete basic logs, and production records.
• Communicate supply needs, feedback, and updates to team and supervisors.
• Stock and serve items during meal service and assist with prep lists.
• Adapt to different school locations, teams, and kitchen environments.
• Jump in where needed to help teammates and train new staff.
