Job summary

Lunchtime Solutions is seeking a dependable Substitute Kitchen Helper to support our school food service program on an as-needed basis.

The role involves stepping in when regular staff are absent, helping with food preparation, serving students, and keeping the kitchen clean and organized. The position is on-site at Ogallala School District with a Monday–Friday schedule and flexible shifts.

Qualifications

• Flexibility to work on an as-needed basis at various school locations.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to follow simple food preparation routines and safety guidelines.
• Willingness to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Fill in at school kitchens when team members are out to ensure meal service continues.
• Help prep and serve menu items, stock stations, and follow serving guidelines.
• Maintain clean and organized kitchen areas, storage, and equipment per FIFO.
• Follow food-safety steps and assist with basic logs and production records.
• Communicate supply needs and updates to the team and supervisors.
• Adapt to different school locations and kitchen environments as needed.
