Job summary

Whitsons is seeking a Substitute School Food Service Worker to support nutrition services in schools. You will prep, portion, and serve meals, set up and clean serving areas, and follow all safety guidelines.

The role emphasizes teamwork and a positive mealtime environment and operates on a flexible, on-call schedule with no night or weekend shifts. Training is provided; prior food service experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Must complete Whitsons and government-mandated training as required.
• Minimum 1 year of professional food service experience preferred but not required.
• ServSafe certification preferred but not required.
• Ability to speak and read English sufficient to understand recipes and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prep, portion, and serve meals to students and staff.
• Set up and clean serving areas and kitchen equipment.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Contribute to a positive and welcoming mealtime atmosphere.
• Support the team and jump in wherever needed.
