Whitsons is seeking a Substitute School Food Service Worker to support its school nutrition program. The role involves prepping, portioning, and serving meals to students and staff, setting up serving areas, and ensuring food safety and cleanliness.

You’ll work flexible, on-call hours, with no nights or weekends, and summers off. No prior experience is required as training is provided, and you’ll join a team dedicated to healthy meals and a positive mealtime atmosphere in local schools.

Qualifications

• Must complete all Whitsons and government-mandated training as required.
• Minimum 1 year of professional food service experience preferred but not required.
• ServSafe certification preferred but not required.
• Ability to speak and read English sufficient to understand and perform job assignments, follow recipes, and comply with safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prep, portion, and serve meals to students and staff.
• Set up and clean serving areas and kitchen equipment.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Contribute to a positive and welcoming mealtime atmosphere.
• Support the team and jump in wherever needed.
