Job summary

Mesquite ISD is seeking a Food Service Worker to prepare quality meals according to tested recipes, ensure sanitary practices, and maintain equipment safety. You will manage storage, assist in HACCP training, and follow kitchen procedures to support daily meals across campuses.

The role requires reading recipes, following instructions, and maintaining strong attention to detail in a high-activity environment with a focus on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret recipes accurately.
• Follow oral instructions for food preparation and safety procedures.
• Know and maintain health/sanitation standards.
• Maintain HACCP or related training when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quality food per planned menu and standardized recipes.
• Maintain clean, organized storage and handle supplies.
• Safely operate kitchen equipment and ensure safety and hygiene.
• Serve food per schedules and departmental policies.
• Record documentation accurately and timely.
• Assist with various kitchen management tasks and HACCP training.
• Communicate work orders to the Kitchen Manager and meet deadlines.
• Attend to transfers between campuses as needed.
