Job summary

Dallas Independent School District is seeking a Food Service Assistant for the Central Kitchen Production (226 Days). The role supports processing and manufacturing meals for Dallas ISD schools, with a focus on safety, sanitation, and quality.

The position requires lifting up to 75 lbs, standing for long periods, and flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays. Training in production processes and reimbursable meals is provided.

Qualifications

• Accredited Senior High School Diploma or valid equivalent preferred.
• One year of food production or manufacturing experience.
• Ability to stand, climb and walk on a continual basis throughout work shift.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to read production/materials and record data.
• Able to work any shift within a 24-hour day, seven days a week with notice or emergency.
• Work in a loud production environment and extreme temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety and sanitation standards and maintain a food handlers certification.
• Prepare a variety of foods according to supervisor instructions and procedures.
• Clean and sanitize food preparation areas and equipment; take out trash and restock supplies.
• Cook and store food properly; label containers.
• Assist with inventory and record production data.
• Train in central kitchen food production and counting reimbursable meals.
• Serve meals to students and count reimbursable meals.
• Count products to ensure accuracy and palletize items.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
