Job Responsibilities

1. Provide students with a well-balanced and nutritious meal.
2. Manage the preparation and delivery of quality meals using standardized recipes and instructions on the menus for students and staff.
3. Ensure staff compliance with high safety and sanitation standards to protect health and safety of staff and students.
4. Ensure the food service program complies with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
5. Adhere to district guidelines for meal service accountability.
6. Prepare and submit requisitions for food and supplies based on menus and delivery schedules.
7. Resolve internal issues and escalate unresolved issues to central staff.
8. Requisition small equipment and cleaning supplies; report equipment repairs promptly.
9. Supervise cafeteria activities, including interviewing, training, planning, assigning work, performance appraisal, rewards, discipline, and conflict resolution.
10. Maintain records for program accountability, including deliveries, cash receipts, and meals served, following district policies.
11. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and department heads.

Additional Information

Selected individuals will be placed according to compensation guidelines. Campus-based employees may not assume new positions until the end of the current semester unless approved. Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (USA)
• Two to four years of relevant training or experience
• One year of management experience in food service or successful completion of Dallas ISD training
• City of Dallas Safety and Sanitation Certification within one month of hire
• Knowledge of food service rules and regulations
• Ability to operate institutional equipment
• Proficiency in English; Spanish is a plus

Compensation

Minimum salary: $37,120.00
