Job summary

West River Modified Union Education District is seeking a School Cook to prepare and serve meals with fresh ingredients while maintaining a clean, safe kitchen. The role requires following menus, ensuring meal reimbursement, and documenting counts using Titan POS.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, be able to lift 50 lbs, and possess basic math and English reading skills. ServSafe certification must be completed within 30 days of hire, with a 183-day work year and 35–40 hour workweek.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year kitchen experience preferred.
• Ability to follow recipes and cook from scratch.
• Knowledge of large-quantity batch cooking preferred.
• Must be able to read English and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Prepare breakfast, lunch, snacks and after school food.
• Follow menus and recipes; cook from scratch.
• Prepare alternate cold lunch options as needed.
• Ensure meals reimibeable and document meal counts.
• Maintain safe, clean food prep area and proper storage.
• Complete ServSafe Food Handler Certification within 30 days of hire.
• Record meal counts online using Titan POS and timecard changes in Frontline.
• Provide courteous customer service to students and staff.
