Job summary

Warren Woods Tower High School is seeking a part-time Food Service Kitchen Helper. The role covers early shifts, serves meals to students and staff, and requires adherence to sanitary standards. You will assist with food prep, serving lines, and basic cash handling.

The position emphasizes reliability and teamwork; prior HACCP training and experience in large-scale cooking are preferred. Working days align with the school calendar; 7:00am–1:00pm schedule, 183 days/year.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of certification for Applied Food Service Sanitation Course taken through statewide training or local training.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience with large scale cooking and food preparation/serving.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily food preparation as assigned, including salads, sandwiches, deli slices, cookies and pretzels.
• Implement HACCP procedures as requested.
• Assist with daily cleaning of kitchen equipment and maintain sanitation.
• Set up and break down serving lines (salad bar, hot food, a la carte).
• Operate all equipment, POS/cash register, count money and reconcile deposits.
