Job summary

Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) in Florida is seeking a Food Support Worker to help prepare menus and ensure safe, sanitary food service operations. The role includes baking, cutting, and cooking, and requires following recipes and quality standards.

With a 10-month schedule, the position supports staff and guests, operates kitchen equipment, logs production data, and adheres to CDC/FSDB food-safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Commercial kitchen or food service experience.
• Serve Safe Certification.
• Preferred: food service experience and flexible shift.
• Sign language encouraged; training available on campus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of foods: bake, meat, poultry, fish, vegetables, soups, sauces.
• Maintain sanitation and safety per rules; wear proper attire; cleaning as required.
• Operate kitchen equipment (slicers, ovens, kettles, mixers); assist with storage.
• Serve food to staff and visitors for events; maintain production statistics and logs.
