Job summary

Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) is seeking a Food Support Worker to assist in the Food Service department, preparing a variety of foods to support FSDB menus. The incumbent will follow recipes, maintain sanitation, operate kitchen equipment, and assist with storage and records as required.

Hours are Monday through Friday, 10:30am to 7:00pm. Hiring salary range is $28,548 to $31,548 annually, with benefits described in FSDB's employee program and opportunities for sign language

Qualifications

Commercial kitchen or food service experience required.
Serve Safe Certification required.

Responsibilities

Prepare a variety of foods including baking, meats, vegetables, soups, sandwiches, sauces and others as per menu.
Maintain sanitation and safety standards in work area and during food prep.
Operate kitchen equipment (slicers, ovens, grills, steam kettles, blenders, mixers, etc.).
Serve food to staff and visitors for regular and special events.
Maintain production records and temperature logs; requisition supplies as needed.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
