Job summary

AVANCE, Inc. in San Antonio seeks a Kitchen/Meal Prep assistant to prepare nutritious meals for enrolled children and event attendees. You will coordinate with the Nutrition Manager, manage food stocks, and help with monthly USDA reports.

Emphasis on positive eating habits, family-style meals, and safe handling of all foods is required. Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED, and hold a Food Handler Certificate; a Food Manager Certification (or ability to obtain one within 30 days)

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Food Handler Certificate upon hire.
• Food Manager Certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days from date of hire.
• At least six months in related field with safety rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Promotes and models AVANCE's Core Values.
• Prepares meals daily/weekly in coordination with Nutrition Manager.
• Maintains inventory of food items, supplies and equipment.
• Assist in USDA monthly reports and proper storage of supplies.
• Ensure meals meet dietary needs and food safety standards.
• Support staff in family-style meals and nutrition education activities.
• Notify staff of menu changes and maintain records.
