Union County Community Action, Inc. (UCCA) is seeking a dependable Cook in Monroe, NC to prepare nutritious meals for Head Start programs and staff. This role follows a structured weekday schedule and offers a starting rate of $13.16 per hour.

You will ensure food safety, assist with inventory, and support a positive dining experience for children. Qualified applicants have a HS diploma or GED, 6 months to 1 year in food service, and Serve Safe certification within six months.

Qualifications

• Six months to one year of related food service experience preferred.
• Serve Safe Certification required within six months of employment.
• Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards.
• Assist with food inventory and supply organization.
• Follow CACFP and program nutrition guidelines.
