Job summary

The Nest Schools Inc. is seeking a dependable Childcare Cook to prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children, under clean and safe kitchen practices. You will plan menus, track dietary needs, and support classrooms and families daily.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year of school/daycare kitchen experience, knowledge of food safety, strong organization, and good communication skills. A State Food Manager License or willingness to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in meal prep for children in school/daycare or similar setting.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation and nutritional meal prep.
• Strong time-management and organizational skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Dependable, patient, flexible and positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Must have a current State Food Manager License or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to lift, push or pull a minimum of 20 pounds regularly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks for children.
• Plan and post menus that meet nutritional guidelines.
• Track food allergies and dietary restrictions carefully.
• Maintain kitchen, inventory, and records.
• Deliver meals to classrooms safely and on schedule.
• Keep kitchen and storage areas clean and sanitary.
• Follow health, safety, and food-handling requirements.
• Record meals served accurately and report to staff.
• Communicate with school leadership and classroom staff as needed.
