Job summary

Derby Public Schools is seeking a Cook to assist in the preparation and serving of meals, and to help maintain kitchen facilities. The role supports district guidelines, communicates with staff, and ensures food is prepared on schedule with proper hygiene.

Applicants should have around three years in food preparation, and must complete required KSDE food safety training and ongoing annual continuing education for hours worked.

Qualifications

• Three years experience in food preparation is preferred.
• Successful completion of KSDE's food safety training requirement.
• Within the first six months of employment.
• Cooks working more than 20 hours per week must complete annual continuing education.
• Cooks working less than 20 hours per week must complete annual continuing education and training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food as directed.
• Assist in cleaning and maintaining kitchen facilities.
